Defining Grace Slick is difficult. But "a very haunting voice" and a "let it all hang out" lifestyle is probably as close as anyone will get. No doubt a perfect fit for the psychedelic rock pioneers like Jefferson Airplane, Grace once removed her blouse and performed topless on stage because of the hot weather.

Grace opened many doors for bands including Jefferson Starship and Starship. She's a great songwriter who was responsible for the Jefferson Airplane's two major hits, "White Rabbit"(1967) and "Somebody To Love" (1967), both from the album 'Surrealistic Pillow.'

Grace retired from the business in 1989 and began painting and drawing professionally, which she still does to this day.

Her first album titled 'Surrealistic Pillow' (1967) helped define the styles of psychedelic rock, hard rock and blues rock.

Along with Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, Starship,The Great Society and with Paul Kantner her discography has 27 albums.

Her other pursuits would include being an artist and former model.

She was a major influence on Stevie Nicks and  Patti Smith.
