It was an uphill climb for The Doobie Brothers as their first album from 1971 titled, 'The Doobie Brothers' failed to make the Top 200 albums chart...
Their second album from 1972 titled, 'Toulouse Street' did somewhat better almost making the Top 20, charted at #21.
1973 was the magical year as, 'The Captain and Me' cracked the Top 10 with the help of singles, "Long Train Runnin'" and "China Grove".
Music critic Bruce Ederonce said about the album,"their most substantial and consistent album to date."
