There are very few rock songs that are sung by the band's drummer. "Sister Christian" was not only crooned by Night Ranger stick man Kelly Keagy, it was written by him too. The song was about his little sister Christy who was cruising through her teen years, or "motoring" as the song states many times. Orginally, it was titled "Sister Christy" by Keagy, but the band misheard his lyrics as "Sister Christian" and the name stuck. It made it to #2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks in 1984, and was named the 32nd biggest song of the 80's by VH1.
