40 Years Of Classic Rock, 1973 – 2013 Part Three – Lynyrd Skynyrd, ‘(Pronounced ‘Leh – Nerd ‘Skin – ‘Nerd)’ [VIDEOS]
Thank heavens for phonetic spelling or may never figured out how to pronounce Lynyrd Skynyrd's Name.
The title of the album was very effective, yes they were new and the name of the band was pretty odd.
It's hard for me to phathom that an album of it's caliber back then could only peak at #27 on the charts. They rapidly became a force in the Southern rock genre with songs like, "Free Bird", Gimme Three Steps" and "Simple Man". Lynyrd Skynyrd was destined for greatness as their first album cracked the Top 30.
Original LP Track List:
- "I Ain't The One"
- "Tuesday's Gone"
- "Gimme Three Steps"
- "Simple Man"
Side 2

- "Free Bird"
Released in U.S. August 13th. 1973 charted #27.
