The Glimmer Twins (Mick Jagger and Keith Richards) penned this song, "Torn and Frayed" in 1972.

If there is such a thing as the seedier side of touring, this song should pretty well some it up for you.

In a way the title says it all describing a guitar players coat that has traveled a great deal from town to town.

Oddly enough it's country rock, not exactly the sound you'd hear from The Rolling Stones.

"Well the ballrooms and the smelly bordellos,
And dressing rooms filled with parasites.
On stage the band has got problems
They're a bag of nerves on first nights.
He ain't tied down to no home town
Yeah, and he thought he was reckless.
You think he's bad, he thinks you're mad
yeah, and the guitar player gets reckless."
