'Born to Run' was the breakthrough album for Bruce Springsteen's released on August 25, 1975.

Bruce played "Born to Run" for the first time  when he opened for Bonnie Raitt at Harvard Square on May 9, 1974.

This was the first song that Bruce had written for a studio production versus a live performance tune.

After recording 4 versions of "Born to Run" (one with a female chorus) in a low-budget studio where he recorded his first 2 albums, he opted for a higher end studio to finish it, refusing to release it until it was exactly right.
