The Broadway production A Night With Janis Joplin has been postponed indefinitely.

Producers of A Night With Janis Joplin say that the show has run into "production issues" and unfortunately it will not be reopening at a new venue.

The show was set to re-open at the Gramercy Theater in June with Mary Bridget Davies in the title role, but reps say that the issues have caused the production to be "suspended indefinitely", which is really too bad because this role was Mary's big Broadway debut and she was playing to sold out crowds and garnering rave reviews. When I went back to New York, this was one of the shows I had wanted to see, so this really disappoints me.

A Night With Janis Joplin chronicled Janis's music and her influences in the 60's, but did it in a concert style setting, rather than a traditional Broadway style musical play.

The Janis Joplin biopic, simply titled Joplin has been in the works now for over a decade without ever completing production.
