One day after the Minnesota Vikings reinstated running back Adrian Peterson, allegations of a second case of suspected abuse involving a different 4 year-old boy have surfaced. Additionally, Radisson Hotels has suspended its sponsorship agreement with the team.

Yesterday afternoon a Houston TV station (KHOU) reported that Peterson had recently been investigated for a second incident that involved physical discipline of a different child in Texas. The report stated that photos showed a cut on the child's head that resulted in a scar. No charges were filed in the case. Peterson's attorney Rusty Hardin released this response:

The allegation of another investigation into Adrian Peterson is simply not true. This is not a new allegation, it's one that is unsubstantiated and was shopped around to authorities in two states over a year ago and nothing came of it. An adult witness adamantly insists Adrian did nothing inappropriate with his son. There is no ongoing or new investigation.

As far as Radisson goes, my guess is that -- among other things, they were not in love with the fact that their logo has been in the background of recent team press conferences. A statement from the company read:

Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children. We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances.
