Alice Cooper, the iconic King of Shock Rock known for his wild theatrical shows mixed with blood, electric chairs, guillotines, hangman's gallows, snakes, and monsters, brings his “Raise the Dead Tour” to Minneapolis to play Hennepin Theatre Trust’s State Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013.

With a career spanning more than five decades, the eclectic artist with a penchant for ghoulish stage shows and gender-bending wardrobes has influenced such other powerhouse musical acts as KISS, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Slipknot and Ozzy Osbourne. Cooper was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003 and the original five member group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. There will be no opening act, it's "all Alice, all night."

Originally a five member band named Alice Cooper, the group formed in Phoenix in the late ‘60s, and released chart-topping anthemic hits such as "I'm Eighteen," “School’s Out” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy” in the early '70's, becoming one of the biggest rock bands in the world.  Cooper's first solo album, “Welcome to My Nightmare,” reached #5 on the Billboard album charts in 1975, and he has continued to record and tour regularly.

Drawing from (and inspiring) horror movies, heavy metal and garage rock, his live shows are known for their over-the-top visual theatrics and androgynous undercurrents. With a persona ingrained in American culture, he has appeared in TV shows including “The Simpsons” and “That ‘70s Show.” He had a memorable cameo in the 1992 movie “Wayne’s World,” where he performed his 1992 hit “Feed My Frankenstein” and Wayne and Garth proclaimed, “We’re not worthy!” In 2012, he released his 26th studio album, “Welcome 2 My Nightmare,” appeared with Johnny Depp in the movie "Dark Shadows" and performed an acclaimed show at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee. He also hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, “Nights With Alice Cooper.”
