We've seen some odd product placement/endorsement deals in our time, but this one just might take the cake. With a slogan that reads, "Give your little Anchorman the support he needs," 'Anchorman 2' and Jockey have teamed up for a series of Ron Burgundy-inspired tighty-whiteys. Except they're not white and come in colors like "Sex Panther Red" and "Beard of Zeus Blue."

The retro-style briefs, seen in the actual movie and glimpsed in the recent trailer (shown above), the new line of 'Anchorman' underwear will run for a limited time leading up to the 'Anchorman 2' release in December. The packaging features Ron Burgundy with the line, "Don't act like your not impressed" in big, bold letters.

The inspiration for the new line, actually came from the 'Anchorman 2' script, which called for Paul Rudd's Brian Fantana to appear in underwear ads not unlike the classic Jim Palmer Jockey campaign from the early 80s. Paramount reached out to Jockey to see if they could supply some skivvies for the movie and the company liked them so much, they decided to offer them up for sale.

The 'Anchorman' underwear already has one, completely sincere, product review that says:

Feel softer and thicker than material on Jockey's regular briefs. First I have worn low-rise in years and fit perfectly, comfortable and look great. Thank you for the throw-back style, now just need them in full-rise and some more color/patter choices.

If you'll remember, for many years Paramount balked at the idea of an 'Anchorman 2,' saying they couldn't justify the cost. It would seem part of finally giving the movie the greenlight was a wide array of endorsement deals with Dodge Durango, Ben & Jerry's, Miller Lite and Hot Topic.

Interestingly enough, it is not the first time Jockey has sold movie-inspired underwear. Back in the 1950s, they released a line based on the Bob Hope film 'Fancy Pants.'
