SARTELL -- You can run it, walk it or bike it, Sartell is gearing up for the 35th annual Apple Duathlon.

The race kicks off with the "Kids Apple Duathlon" Friday night. Organizer Julia Krengel says kids of all ages can take part in the race.

"[The kids] six and under, we kind of herd them together and let them run around our parking lot for a 1K and they just absolutely love that."

Two other courses will be set up for older kids ages 7-16. The main adult Apple Duathlon begins Saturday morning.

"We'll open at 6:30 a.m. and everyone will start setting up their bikes and we will start the race right at 8:30 a.m."

Race courses start and finish at Sartell Middle School as well as bring you on a scenic route through Sartell.

Nearly 500 athletes are expected to come out to this year's Apple Dualthon.
