The St. John's football team routed Carleton 51-14 Saturday afternoon in Collegeville to end a 4-game losing streak. Nick Martin threw for 309 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 40 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Johnnies. Rob Voshell caught 4 passes for 124 yards and Josh Bungum had 2 catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. Colin Moynihan ran for 78 yards on 5 carries including a 5-yard touchdown run.
Apollo 26, Tech 20
(Kyle Rosenthal ran for 122 yards including a 20-yard touchdown run that turned out to be the game-winner. Apollo outscored Tech 13-0 in the 4th quarter. Jake Peterson ran for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns for Tech. Tech has lost 3 games in a row and is now 3-4. Ben Alvord threw for 203 yards and 2 touchdowns including a 80-yard touchdown pass. Apollo has won 2 games in a row and is 2-5. Tech hosts Rocori next Wednesday and Apollo plays at Fergus Falls next Wednesday).
The Cathedral Athletic Hall of Fame is adding 6 new members on Friday. The 6 are 1977 graduate Tom Eickhoff who played football and track and field at Cathedral and has been a community supporter after graduation, 1982 graduate Kelly Haws who was an athlete and coach at Cathedral. She participated in cross country, gymnastics and track and field, Laura (Henry) Iten, a 1998 graduate who participated in volleyball basketball and softball,
Tonight is Week 7 of the High School Football Regular season and the featured matchup in the St. Cloud area is Tech at Apollo at 7pm. The Tigers are 3-3 after are coming off back to back loses where they've lead in the 4th quarter. Apollo is coming off a 9-6 win at Sauk Rapids-Rice. The win snapped a 22-game losing streak for the school.

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier spoke to the media today and expressed concern over Jerome Simpson's pregame injury to his ankle and that they will do a MRI today to determine the severity of it. He suggested that the injury may have effected his back and legs. Simpson played sparingly Sunday against Tennessee and didn't record a catch.
