What can you say about Jimmy Page that hasn't been said already?  Genius, master of the guitar, brilliant arranger and composer, etc.

Jimmy turns 75 today, believe it or not. He's had such an impressive career. Once known as the most sought after session guitarist in London , in the 60's. From there he went on to play with the Yardbirds.  After leaving he made plans to form a new band called the New Yardbirds. Keith Moon of the Who told him that would go over like a lead zeppelin, thus the name Led Zeppelin.

You can't argue with Page's success. Zeppelin is one of the best selling music artists in the history of audio recording; various sources estimate the group's record sales at 200 to 300 million units worldwide. With RIAA-certified sales of 111.5 million units, they are the third best selling artists in the US.

Also, Jimmy Page wrote most of Zeppelin's music with Robert Plant contributing the lyrics.

Check out this tune and listen how Jimmy Page matches Plant's vocals note for note on his guitar.
