Baxter’s Attic. What’s Jim Morrison Singing About in the Song ‘Soul Kitchen’?

Every weekday morning at around 9:35, we venture into The Attic and play something your probably don’t hear on the air often.  This morning our selection was “Soul Kitchen” by the Doors.  Jim Morrison wrote this song about a restaurant he frequented in Venice Beach, California.  He would often hang around late and they would have to ask him to leave so they could close, thus the line in the song “Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen”.  As a Doors fan, this is one of my favorite Doors songs.
