ST. CLOUD -- Before you fire up the computer to start your online shopping, the Better Business Bureau is giving you some helpful tips to shop safe this Cyber Monday.

It's known as the biggest online shopping day of year. According to Frobes Cyber Monday sales totaled $3.45 billion last year alone.

If you're planning on doing some online shopping, here's some helpful advice to make sure your transactions are secure.

1.Make sure you have the most recent updates for spam filters, anti-virus and firewalls.
2.Stick to trustworthy websites and check out reviews online of the site.
3. Read the privacy policy to make sure your personal information is safe.
4. Beware of deals that sound too good to be true, and confirm your purchase is secure. 5. Keep documents of your order and check your credit card statements often.

The BBB also says by law, a seller must ship your order within 30 days, if unable to ship the provider most notify you and revise the shipping date or give you a chance to cancel and refund your order.
