FOLEY -- It will be a slower season for road construction in Benton County after three of their scheduled projects are being delayed.

County Engineer Chris Byrd says a bridge replacement on County Road 42 is awaiting bonding money, County Highway 22 near Gilman has wetland concerns to address and the other is Dewey Street in Foley. Byrd says the city of Foley is replacing sewer and water lines underneath the street and needs additional time to get the project started.

But, there will be two construction projects beginning and another finishing this year. County Highway 1, also known as Mayhew Lake Road, will be repaved from Highway 23 to Golden Spike Road and County Highway 13 south of Gilman will be completely refurbished.

Byrd says the final lift of pavement will be put on County Highway 3 in Sauk Rapids and striping and landscaping will also be completed by July.
