BIG LAKE -- A medical device maker plans to double the size of its Big Lake facility. LISI Medical Remmele Inc. is planning a $9.4-million expansion.

The business plans to renovate their 65,000 square-foot building to 115,000 square-feet, which will create about 19 new jobs over the next three years.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is backing with project with a $345,000 grant from the Job Creation Fund.

LISI Medical Remmele makes surgical devices, spinal implants, and drug infusion, urological and vascular components.

The company employs 330 people in their Big Lake and Coon Rapids locations.
