Bret Michaels Is Suing CBS And The Tony Awards

Remember seeing Bret Michaels being bashed on the head with a piece of the set during the Tony Awards a few years ago? Well- Bret is suing CBS and the organizers of the Tony Awards claiming the incident led to his life-threatening brain injury.

He claims show organizers never explained that the set would be changing after the band performed, and that they could have prevented the incident from airing, but chose not to.  You may remember that about this time last year, Bret suffered a brain hemorrhage and later a stroke, which nearly killed him.
PEOPLE magazine’s online version reports:
“In the suit against CBS and the Tony Awards for unspecified damages, Michaels claims that despite his asking producers for instructions on where to stand on the Radio City Music Hall stage during his performance, he was only told to “simply exit the stage from the rear.” “

Bret fell after being smacked in the head by a piece of scenery right after performing “Nothin’ But a Good Time” with his band, Poison and the cast of Rock Of Ages. He was knocked to the ground, fractured his nose and ended up with three stitches in his lip. In the suit, Michaels also rails on producers for telling the press that he missed his mark. So far, there has been no response from the Tonys nor CBS.
