The Boss has issued an official statement about The Big Man and his long road to recovery. 

Bruce Springsteen has issued an official statement regarding the health and recovery of his saxophone player, Clarence Clemons following Clemons's stroke on Sunday night.

Springsteen acknowledges that Clemons had the stroke, but says that initial signs are, "encouraging". He says that Clemons has a long road to recovery and that he is surrounded by his loving wife, Victoria and the best doctors, nurses and health care professionals who are all working together for the best possible outcome.

He goes on to say that Clemons will need "much care and support" during this time so that he may "reach his potential once again." Springsteen is also sending his thanks to their dedicated fans for "their prayers, positive energy and concern."

Springsteen and Clemons have been friends for four decades, dating back to "Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ".
