Bruce Springsteen has had a hugely successful career. He's had chart topping albums across the globe since the 1970's, but his youngest son has decided to stay out of the family business.

Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa must be pretty proud of their youngest son.

Last week Sam graduated from the Monmouth County Fire Academy and has now been hired by the Colts Neck, New Jersey Fire Department. He was among 42 graduates of the grueling academy program and his mother and famous father were both there to cheer him on.

The County Fire Marshall said that no one had it easy at the academy and explained there there is a lot of book work and physical work involved like learning and performing CPR, rescue operations, putting out fires as well as hauling, maintaining and storing equipment, but said that Sam pulled his weight. He called him "smart" and said that Sam "enjoyed what he was doing".

Mom Patti said that she was proud of her son and called him their "family hero".
