Camp Ripley Will Hold An Open House This Sunday
If you've ever wanted to ride in a military HUMVEE, this Sunday is your chance. Camp Ripley is offering them this weekend as part of their biennial Open House.
The theme for this Sunday's event is Heroes of the Homefront, and it allows community members and military families a closer look at the equipment they use for training. In addition to HUMVEE rides, you'll have a rare chance to get close to some of the specialized weapons, as well as the latest advanced combat vehicles and equipment that the base uses.
The event runs from 10am to 3pm this Sunday (September 15th) and a ceremony honoring family members, employers and civic organizations will take place at 1pm.
