The High School Football rankings were announced Thursday and Rocori is ranked #8 this week in the Class 4A state poll. Rocori is 4-1 and is coming off a 20-12 loss at home to previously winless Sauk Rapids-Rice. The Spartans lost starting quarterback and top runner Mac Mueller. The Spartans will play at Big Lake Friday night at 7pm, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:45.

The St. John's football team looks to end a 3-game losing streak when they play at Augsburg in Minneapolis on Saturday at 1pm. The Johnnies are 0-3 in the MIAC and 2-3 overall. St. John's will play this week and next week without starting quarterback Connor Bruns. Bruns could return after St. John's bye week to play against Gustavus on October 27. Freshman Nick Martin will get the start at quarterback again this week.
SCSU Hockey Gets Votes In USCHO.com Poll
The St. Cloud State men's hockey team received votes in this week's USCHO.com Division I men's college hockey poll. SCSU earned 78 points and are 3 points out of the 20th spot in the poll. Boston College is ranked #1 followed by the Gophers, Michigan, North Dakota and Union in the top 5. Denver is ranked #8, MN-Duluth is #12, and Wisconsin is ranked #18.

The NFL Officials have an agreement to end the lockout with the NFL and Sartell's Mike Spanier is one of the officials heading back to work this weekend. Mike is a line judge and has been assigned to work the Carolina at Atlanta game this Sunday. The officials will gather in Dallas for a referees clinic on Friday and will vote Saturday morning to ratify the new agreement between the officials union and the NFL.

St. John's will start freshman Nick Martin at quarterback Saturday when they host St. Olaf for homecoming at 1pm. Martin is a 6'3 195 pound pocket passer from Plymouth and Wayzata High School. He was 6-8 passing for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns in relief of Connor Bruns and John Ries Saturday at Concordia-Moorhead.

The St. Cloud State football team won 24-19 at Wayne State Saturday afternoon. The game was tied at 10 at halftime and scored 14 points in the 3rd quarter and held on to win. Michael Walker ran for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Huskies. Phil Klaphake threw for 222 yards and ran for 40 yards for SCSU.

Connor Bruns threw for 132 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Nick Martin was 6-8 passing for the Johnnies for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. John Ries also saw time at quarterback and was 5-11 passing for 59 yards and 1 interception.

Josh Bungum had 9 catches for 105 yards and Taylor Freetly had 7 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown for St. John's.
