A little bit of Twins history was made in the bottom of the fourth inning when the team pulled off a rare 5-4-3 triple play. Miguel Sano fielded Jefry Marte's ground ball, stepped on the third base bag to retire Albert Pujols, then fired to second baseman Brian Dozier to get Yunel Escobar before Dozier's relay to first to complete the play.
The Twins fall to 26-23 on the season with the loss. Minnesota will begin a series in Los Angeles Thursday night on WJON, with first pitch slated for 9:07.
The Twins coughed up an 8-2 lead and lost 16-8 Monday to the Houston Astros. Houston scored 11 runs in the 8th inning and 3 in the 9th inning to come from behind to win. Ervin Santana allowed 1 earned run in 7 innings but the bullpen struggled.
