The National Weather Service has issued another Winter Storm Watch for the St. Cloud area; this one in effect Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. What will begin as a wintry mix Wednesday night, is expected to change to all snow on Thursday, resulting in 6-12" of new accumulation across Central Minnesota.
A Winter Weather Advisory for the St. Cloud area remains in effect through 7:00 tomorrow morning. Rain will change to snow overnight, with accumulation up to 2" by tomorrow morning. A Blizzard Warning is in effect just west of the St. Cloud Area, including Alexandria and Fergus Falls.
The Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service for the St. Cloud area for Monday has been cancelled. Warmer air is expected to produce a mainly rainy and blustery day across the area. Heavy snow is still expected for parts north tomorrow.
Temperatures are about to get frigid again with subzero wind chills and the National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning that begins at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) and goes through 3 a.m. Thursday.
Updated at 7 pm on Friday 2/21 - MnDOT is still advising 'no travel' this evening and overnight tonight. Persistent blowing & drifting on top of ice covered roads continue to create hazardous driving conditions. Multiple accidents continue to plague our area. Minnesota State Patrol, "Stay safe by staying off the roads tonight."
