Cathedral Baseball Tops Albany and Heads Back to State

The Cathedral baseball team defeated Albany twice Thursday night at Dick Putz Field.  The Crusaders won 7-1 in game 1 before downing Albany 7-4 in 8 innings in game 2.  Jeff Fasching threw 4 1/3 innings with 1 hit allowed to get the win in game 1.  Drew Peschel singled in the game-winning run in the 8th inning for the Crusaders in game 2.  Albany led 4-0 in game 2 before Cathedral came back.

The Crusaders are the defending Class AA State champions and will play at 5:30 Thursday June 14 at Dick Putz Field in the state quarterfinals.
