Cathedral Faces Tough Test Against Top-Seeded East Grand Forks Friday

The Cathedral Crusaders topped Totino-Grace 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday night to advance to the state tournament semifinals against East Grand Forks. Friday's game has a tentative start time of 1 PM and can be heard on AM 1390 The Fan.

Cathedral is the fourth seed in Class A with a record of 21-7-1. Matt Fritz scored a pair of goals in the quarterfinal matchup with the Eagles. Leo Lommel and Erik Gadbois scored in the game for the Crusaders as well.

The Green Wave is the #1 seed in the tourney, boasting a record of 26-2-1. East Grand Forks defeated Orono 5-1 on Wednesday to advance in the tournament. EGF has won a remarkable 18 games in a row and have not lost since December 27th.

Cathedral played at East Grand Forks on January 3rd, falling by a final score of 3-1. The Green Wave outshot the Crusaders 25-13 in the game and went 1/2 on the power play.
