It’s that time of year again. In March we celebrate the great pastime of consuming alcohol and pinching each other for not wearing green with St. Patrick’s Day. What’s not to like?

You get a free pass to drink as much as you like and you even get to exemplify your masochistic urges when your friends forget to wear an article of green colored clothing by giving them a nice, hard pinch. It’s the perfect holiday. You can celebrate the proper way by checking out the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Minneapolis.

Floats, parties, and beer galore. It’s the 50th anniversary of the parade, and it seems to get better every year. There is a $25 entry fee for families and non-profit groups to walk in the parade. As always it's free to watch. It’s being held on Saturday, March 17th starting at 6:30 PM. The parade route is on the new and improved Nicollet Mall.
