ST. CLOUD - An obstacle course, craft projects, music, food and so much more were at Lake George to celebrate fathers around St. Cloud.

The 23rd Annual Celebration of Fatherhood was an opportunity for families to do a multitude of activities together. The event was free to attend.

Tom Schnabel is the organizer for the event. He says though the event is celebrating Dad's, it's really an event for the whole family.

"This is the 23rd annual celebration. The event is about honoring and celebrating dad's. We have lots of different activities that we encourage Dad's and Mom;s to take part in."

Dad's and their families were able to run through an obstacle course together, go on the paddle boats and enjoy the beautiful day at Lake George.

Schnabel says the event is a lot fun, but the real joy for fathers is being able to spend time with their kids.

"I think the greatest joy is just being able to spend time with your kids."

Schnabel also teaches a class on Saturday morning's throughout the school year for younger kids and their dad's.

The event was a part of the St. Cloud School District 742 ECFE Dad's Project, Sauk Rapids Rice ECFE, Great River Regional Library. United Way of Central Minnesota, St. Cloud Area Thrive, and St. Cloud HRA.
