ST. CLOUD - The "Charity Challenge" is back this holiday season. The Charity Challenge has become a tradition for the Norman C. Skalicky Foundation, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, and the St. Cloud metro area.

The Charity Challenge match for local food shelves is taking place again this year, matching every dollar donated to three area food shelves up to $100,000.

Donations need to be received by December 31st.

Contributions should be sent directly to Catholic Charities, St. Cloud Salvation Army, or St. Joseph Community Food Shelf, with the attention of "Food Shelf Charity Challenge".

Last year the challenge raised a record $342,000, with the $100,000 match, the total collected was $442,000. More than $2.2 million has been donated since the challenge began in 2001.
