Rockford, Illinois rockers Cheap Trick are set to open both a museum and music venue in the "Record Row" district of Chicago.

The group's manager said in a statement that "Cheap Trick Chicago"  will be “a one-of-a-kind eatery, unique musical instrument museum, radio station, and performance space as well as rooftop and outdoor and event space in the future Music Row in Chicago.”

It's all part of a project to link the legendary Chicago Chess Records Building, Vee Jay Records building and numerous abandon auto dealerships and other buildings into a major entertainment district.

Last July, The Trick played a show in Ottawa in which a temporary, outdoor stage collapsed. Four people were injured and one left in critical condition.

Also, several of Rick Nielsen's guitars were crushed in the melee.

As a result, that band will no longer play on such stages so having their own venue that they themselves design will offer them a chance to perform ofetn on a regular basis.
