The self-titled debut from The Doors took a whole seven days to record. Impressive!

"As we started recording, the more we played the more we sensed how well we blended together and how well the music blended with Jim's poetry. We really had the feeling that we had something very special, something that only happens once" Ray Manzarek (keyboards) a 2008 interview looking back at the recording session.

#43 on Rolling Stone's Topp 500 and NME magazine put it at #25 of their greatest albums list.

Certified 5x Platinum, #2 in the U.S. and #43 on the U.K. charts.

Released January 4th, 1967
