SARTELL -- Some new changes are happening to the Coborns Superstore along Pinecone Road in Sartell.

The company announced they're moving the liquor store into a new building in order to renovate the store for more fresh offerings.

Communications Manager Rebecca Kurowski says the move reflects the changes in way customers shop.

"We've been watching some of the different changing trends with how people are shopping, we've been listening to a lot of guest feedback and these are the things people are asking for," says Kurowski.

Construction is currently underway on the new 15,500 square-foot facility. Coborns Liquor plans to occupy 10,000 square-feet of the building.

Kurowski says renovations to the store will be happen in several phases and feature more of food court approach.

"That's going to feature a fresh salad bar, brick oven pizza's, expanded fresh sushi bar and then a broaden selection of nutritious deli offerings," says Kurowski.

Additional renovations include expansions to their produce, natural foods, and pet departments as well as adding a smokehouse meats department, and artisan bakery.

Sartell Planning and Community Development Director Anita Rasmussen says the remainder of the building could accommodate two additional tenants or one large tenant, however nothing has been announced at this time.

The new Coborns Liquor store is expected to be opened by mid to late summer, with renovations to the store starting in May.
