COLD SPRING -- An update to a story we first told you about last month.  With one of Cold Spring's largest businesses experiencing substantial growth, it has decided to expand operations and create more jobs.

Cold Spring Brewing Company will be expanding its shipping facility. Vice President Scott Bender says the company has been growing in many areas.

"Our beer growth has been very good in the last year, so we need some additional capacity to keg and package our beer. As well as our co-packing sides so we do a lot of energy drinks, fruit juices and other beverages for customers and we've just seen good growth all the way through that."

With the recent growth, Bender says the company needs to expand in order to keep up with demand.

"We've had good growth in the business over the last four years and we now need additional warehouse and shipping as well as production capacities. So we will be building about a 300,000 square feet facility and a part of that will be with a new production line."

Expanding operations of the brewery will create about 40-60 new jobs in the Cold Spring area. Bender says they will be hiring for multiple positions.

"A lot of them will be forklift jobs, machine operators, maintenance, some administration and office, because it is a combination warehousing and production facility. So a little bit of everything."

Cold Spring Brewing Company currently employs nearly 330 employees. Bender says all of the new jobs will be full-time positions.

The Economic Development Administration sold portions of the business park area to the brewery for the expansion. The expansion is expected to be completed by late 2017 or early 2018.
