A week in which many of the top teams were off certainly didn’t lack for action with some exciting games and one of the wildest endings you will ever see. Here is what we learned in Week 10.

Florida State is the Best Team in Florida. And Maybe the Country.

Florida State and Miami have been part of some of the biggest rivalry games in history, with plenty of close games and wild finishes. The No. 3 Seminoles, however, made sure this would not be one of those games, scoring 20 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 41-14 win over No. 7 Miami. FSU quarterback Jameis Winston threw two first-half interceptions that allowed the Hurricanes to keep the game close, but rallied to finish with 325 yards and a touchdown in the win. Miami’s star running back Duke Johnson rushed for 97 yards before leaving the game with an ankle injury in the third quarter. The Seminoles put up 517 yards and 41 points on a Miami defense that was 11th nationally in scoring defense coming into this game.

Michigan State’s Defense is Really Good

The in-state rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State was a one-sided affair as No. 22 Michigan State battered the No. 21 Wolverines to secure a 29-6, victory, the Spartans’ fifth win in the last six in this series. The Michigan State defense was spectacular in this one, sacking Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner seven times, holding the Wolverines to minus-48 yards rushing and limiting an offense that ranked eighth nationally in scoring to just two first half field goals. Michigan State now controls its own destiny in the Big Ten Legends division and could have one of the few defenses in the country to challenge Ohio State. This was the most lopsided Spartans win over Michigan since a 34-0 shutout in 1967.

Oklahoma State is Still in the Big 12 Hunt

It may have taken a while, but No. 18 Oklahoma State’s offense is finally starting to round into the form that has made the Cowboys so dangerous in recent years. Facing a hostile crowd at No. 15 Texas Tech, the Cowboys ground game was in high gear, rolling up a season-high 281 yards and five touchdowns. OSU racked up 492 total yards, the most given up by the Red Raiders this season. Cowboys quarterback Clint Chelf, who was benched earlier in the season, threw for a season-high 211 yards and two touchdowns while also adding two rushing scores. Oklahoma State still controls its own destiny in the Big 12 with the meat of its schedule still remaining—after next week’s game against Kansas, the Cowboys then go on the road against Texas (undefeated in conference) before closing the season with home games against No. 6 Baylor and No. 10 Oklahoma.

Todd Gurley is Finally Healthy

Georgia’s star running back Todd Gurley has battled injuries all season long and had missed the past three games with a sprained ankle. But he returned for Saturday’s game against archrival Florida and made the most of being back on the field, accounting for 187 total yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 23-20 win over Florida. Georgia rolled early, racking up 259 yards and 17 points in the first quarter en route to a 23-3 halftime lead. The Gators rallied to make it a game, scoring 17 unanswered points in the second half. But Gurley carried the ball seven times during a final 15-play, eight-minute drive by the Bulldogs to run out the clock.

Nebraska Gets the Wildest Win of the Week

It’s been a week for weird endings in sports (one World Series game ends on an obstruction call, another ends with a pickoff at first base, an NFL game ends on an overtime safety, etc.), so it was only appropriate that college football got in on the action. Trailing by three with just four seconds left on the clock, Nebraska quarterback Ron Kellogg III unleashed a 49-yard Hail Mary that was tipped up at the goal line and then . . . well, just watch.
