ST. CLOUD -- A Coon Rapids man has been charged in an October 2013 St. Cloud bank robbery.

A complaint filed in Stearns County alleges 28-year-old Michael Berger was the man who walked into the TCF Bank on 25th Avenue South and demanded money.

The suspect handed the teller a note that read "I am sorry, I have a gun, quietly and quickly put your $20's, $50's and $100's from your drawer into an envelope just as if I was making a withdrawal." No gun was shown during the robbery. The suspect left with $1,400 in cash.

The note was sent to an FBI lab for fingerprint analysis. The analysis matched 10 separate prints from its database identifying Berger as the suspect. Berger's prints were in the database due to his military service.

Records show Berger was interviewed in May of this year and ultimately admitted to the robbery.
