The past few years have been rough on the musical community. We’ve lost a handful of very influential artists. Among them Lemmy Kilmister, Glenn Frey, and of course – Prince. Although the loss of Prince probably hit Minnesotans the hardest, there was one loss that hit the rest of the world just as hard. I’m talking about David Bowie.

I remember the day it happened. I don’t think I had seen the world that collectively upset in 6 or 7 years. And it’s easy to understand why. The guy was an icon and definitely had a one of a kind style. Obviously, Bowie Himself will never play again (unless it’s in the form of a hologram) but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience all of his tunes live.

Rebel Rebel is a David Bowie tribute band from Los Angeles, and in my opinion, they’re the best Bowie tribute out there. Do a quick YouTube search of them. You won’t be disappointed. Thankfully for we Minnesotans, Rebel Rebel will be playing First Avenue on July 13th. The show starts at 9 pm and you can get a ticket online now for as little as $40.
