Dear Baxter, My Girlfriend is Making Me Choose Between Her and My

Hey Baxter,

I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place. I recently started dating a girl and things were progressing nicely. The first time she was at my house she made it clear that she didn't like dogs. I guess that should have been a red flag. Anyway, I would always kennel my dog during her infrequent visits. Lately she has been spending more time at my place and it seems my dog is kenneled a lot. I mentioned to her that maybe should get just get acquainted with him and she flipped out. Long story short, we had a big fight and it came down to me having to choose between her and my dog. I hate to lose her but I can't imagine giving up my pup. Any advice?

Just from reading your email, I think you've already made your decision. If you are still having doubts, perhaps you should try the age old test. Lock your girlfriend and your dog in the trunk of your car. Then wait a half hour and open it up and keep the one that's happy to see you. Hope this helps.
