Dear Baxter, My Husband Ignores Me and Doesn’t Hear a Word I Say

Dear Baxter, 

My husband and I have been married just over ten years and the last few years I feel I'm alone in this marriage.  I talk to him and he doesn't even give me the courtesy of looking my way when I talk. He just stares at the TV. What can I do to get just a little of his attention when I talk?

I sympathize with your situation.  Are you asking yourself the qualifying question before you talk?  That question is, 'Is this of any interest to him?"   If not, you might want to be more selective on your subject matter.  Otherwise, my only other suggestion would be to stand next to the TV when you talk to him.  At least that will give you the illusion that he is listening.  Hope this helps.
