Dear Baxter,

I've been married to my husband for over 20 years now and the last 15 years or so, he refuses to cuddle after we make love.  To me this is a very important part of lovemaking and I need that extra closeness.  What's his problem?

Signed,

Andrea       Sartell, MN

Andrea,

I might not be the guy to ask.  Myself, I'm more of an apologize and go to sleep kind of guy.  There has been some research in this area and scientists have found that this no cuddle thing is do to what I call the "short window of peace".  In short, men are constantly bombarded by hormones telling them to have sex.  So once the act is completed, there is a short window of about 8 to 10 minutes where your guy is not thinking about sex.  After that, the hormones are back at it.  During that window of peace it's extremely easy to drift off to sleep.  Try cuddling with a teddy bear after and see if that works for you.  Hope this helps.

Signed,

Baxter
