The 1968 debut album titled 'This Was' by a soon to be household name Jethro Tull already had the passionate vocals of Ian Anderson.Ian Anderson a multi-instrumentalist handling vocals and flute created a great identity for the Jethro Tull early which solidified their future as a band.

There is only one thing missing, Martin barre would eventually be a major part of the band for decades. He would bring many characteristic tones to amplify their needed sound. he can be heard on thier 'Stand Up' album' of 1969.
