Ding Dong! Osama’s Gone!

The U.S. Military's Special Operations Division has removed the head of Al Qaeda in great fashion. Thank God. 

First off, I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere THANK YOU as well as a debt of gratitude to the men and women of the United States military. You guys are freakin' rock stars and deserve to be treated as such. Both current and former members of our armed forces have shown bravery and courage in our darkest of times and made sacrifices that most people will never understand.

Secondly, to the spouses and children left behind, you are pillars of strength to your families and communities and should be held up as examples of fine citizens and human beings to all of us.

Finally, this event in our nation's history should show everyone that you must never, ever give up hope. Ever. It has been ten long and bloody years and thousands have paid the ultimate sacrifice, but justice has been done.

I am relieved, but cautiously so. Yes, the head is gone, but I am afraid that the body will be able to function without it. That being said, I still feel safe and secure in the knowledge that we sleep soundly in our beds only because rough men stand willing to do violence on our behalf.
