A turkey hunt for people with disabilities will take place at the Rockville County Park & Nature Preserve on April 16-20 and April 21-25, 2014. The park will be closed to the general public during both of the five day hunts.

Hunters will be able to use shotguns, bows or crossbows and will be limited to portable ground blinds.

An exclusive group of four hunters will be selected and supervised by Midwest Outdoors Unlimited for each of the hunts. The mission of the group is to provide outdoor recreational activities for Disabled American Veterans, disabled individuals, and disabled youth in Minnesota. Each disabled hunter will be accompanied by at least one non-disabled person while in the park.

If you're interested in participating, you can get an application from Ron Welle at Midwest Outdoors Unlimited: midwestoutdoorsunlimited@yahoo.com. Completed applications must be returned by March 25, 2014.
