If you keep up with my Star Wars posts, you know how I feel about the way that Disney has been handling it’s acquirement of the greatest space odyssey of all time. In short, I love all of the films that they have released over the past few years (especially The Last Jedi – sorry, not sorry.)

But I STRONGLY feel that they need to stop making Star Wars films for a while after the release of episode 9. They are definitely over saturating the franchise. There’s absolutely no anticipation for a new installment when you release a new movie every 6 months. It gets old after a while.

Too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing. I’ve been saying this pretty regularly over the past few months, and it looks like Disney finally decided to take my advice. After “Solo: A Star Wars Story” severely underperformed financially, Disney has decided to hold off on making all of the previously scheduled spin off films.

Personally, I’m thrilled with this news. Putting a little bit of time between Star Wars releases from now on will give people a chance to miss the franchise instead of getting sick of it being shoved down their throats on a regular basis. Good call Disney!
