BURTRUM -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is looking for feedback on experimental fishing regulations on three central Minnesota lakes. A public meeting will be held Monday at the Burtrum Community Center, 115 Main Street West, at 6:00 p.m.

The regulations on Cedar Lake in Morrison County and Big Swan Lake and Bass Lake in Todd County govern the slots and bag limits for Northern Pike.

The meeting will be used to help determine whether the regulations should be continued, modified or dropped.

Big Swan Lake has seen some improvement for fish over 24 inches since the regulations were implemented in 2007.

Bass Lake and Cedar Lake have produced larger pike over 40 inches since the regulations went into effect but recent surveys suggest an over-abundance of smaller pike may be negatively influencing the fish community.
