Do Bands Really Get Better With Age?

One group seems to think so, so they're hitting the road for a huge summer tour and releasing a live album.

Def Leppard lead guitarist Phil Collen says that he feels the group is much tighter than they were back in their 80's hey day and they're ready to prove it.

Mirrorball is a new live album that will consist of material from 45 concerts from 2008 and 2009. There will also be three bonus studio tracks - "Undefeated", "It's All About Believin'" and "Kings of the World" - on this album as well. No release date for the album has been announced.

Def Leppard's summer tour will begin on June 7 in Belfast, Ireland and rip through the U.S. starting June 15. Singer Joe Elliott promises a "Cirque du Soleil"-type stage spectacle. The tour will make two stops close to us. One at Rockfest July 17 in Cadott, Wisconsin and another August 26 at the Minnesota State Fair.

I saw Def Leppard at the State Fair back in their "80's hey day" and it wasn't the best show I've ever seen, but it wasn't the worst either. Not including gate admission, taxes, fees or any other ridiculous thing Ticketmaster can tack on, tickets for the State Fair show are $39-$59 and go on sale this Saturday at noon. At least they know rockers like to sleep in.
