I will admit, if I'm travelling within the United States, I will try and stay places that are pet friendly.  It's easier than trying to board our dog, or worse, trying to find someone to pet-sit..or house sit AND dog sit.  I love my little pupper, but sometimes it might be easier to have a cat.

With that said, there are so many more places that allow pets than there used to be.  It just gets a bit more complicated when you are travelling outside the United States.  Flying with a pet can get challenging.  There is a pet area in the cargo hold, but of course you'd like to have your pet with you on the flight.  People have been getting creative with saying that they need their pet as a comfort... anti-anxiety companion.  But when the ducks, goats, and anything else you can think of started showing up on flights things got weird.  And the crackdown began with that issue.
