While NBA playoffs are underway, the talk of the league is not centered on LeBron James, Kevin Durant or Paul George. Nope, a team owner has become the focus.

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has come under fire for making racist comments to a girlfriend that has since been obtained by the NBA.

Sterling was incensed his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, took a photo with Magic Johnson and posted it on Instagram.

The exchange has caused Sterling a lot of heat:

Sterling: “Why are you taking pictures with minorities? Why?”
Stiviano: “People call you and tell you that I have black people on my Instagram, and it bothers you?”
Sterling: “Yeah, it bothers me a lot that you want to promo… broadcast that you’re associating with black people.”

The NBA is investigating the matter.

The Clippers, meanwhile, continued their first-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors. The team protested Sterling’s actions by removing their warm-up shirts prior to Sunday’s road game in Oakland and wearing their shooting shirts inside out so no one could see the team name.

During the game, the players also sported black arm and wrist bands.
