St. Cloud State senior forward Nic Dowd signed a one year contract with the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday after completing his collegiate career in the Huskies' 4-0 loss to Minnesota Sunday night in the NCAA Tournament.

Dowd scored 40 points in 38 games this season and was equally effective on the defensive side of the ice. The Huntsville, Alabama native was named the National Collegiate Hocket Conference's Defensive Forward of the Year in 2013-14, as well as the conference's Student-Athlete of the Year.

Dowd scored 121 points in his four seasons at SCSU.
