Judas Priest's guitarist has left the band and is now explaining the hasty departure.

Last week, I told you that KK Downing has called it quits after 42 years in Judas Priest, and today he issued a statement explaining his abrupt exit.

Downing said that his health was not a factor in his decision, but went on to say that tension has been growing within the band and said that there has been a breakdown between the group and band management for quite some time. He went on to say that he didn't want to hit the road for their farewell tour harboring negative sentiments.

He is still encouraging fans to go out and support the band as they get ready to say goodbye. Judas Priest's "Epitaph" trek is set to launch in June.
