Kids nowadays...with their smartphones and iPads and short attention spansSQUIRREL!!! You see pictures plastered all over social media and the internets about how parents of yore would beat the d-bag out of their kids before they became full-grown d-bags, and now kids aren't getting spanked so they're becoming full-grown d-bags.

Even though all you have to do is go out in public and you'll find d-bags of all ages everywhere (to paraphrase Dark Helmet: "I'm surrounded by d-bags!!").

Digressing...

Meet Ryan. He's an eighth-grader. I remember what I was doing in eighth grade, and it definitely wasn't being awesome.

Ryan found out that the special wheelchair belonging to his neighbor Jerylyn - who has cerebral palsy - was stolen one morning while she was preparing to go to school. Some kids would offer their condolences, most would turn away.

But Ryan is awesome. He took action.

With help from his mother, he set up a GoFundMe page to buy a new wheelchair for Jerylyn. The type that she needs is not cheap; approximately $2300 for a wheelchair suitable to her needs.

And then friends and strangers came together to reach Ryan's goal, and then some...within 24 hours of the page going live!

What a kid and what a community. That's why this is today's Happy News Over Angry Music story.
